How does Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Depression work?

Cognitive-behavioral therapy is a type of psychotherapy. Cognitive-behavioral therapy alters the way we think to improve moods, and behavior. Cognitive-behavioral Therapy believes thoughts and feelings don’t arise from unconscious forces, but are caused by distorted beliefs or thoughts. Cognitive therapy is a combination of cognitive therapy and behavioral therapy. Cognitive therapy is all about you and your thoughts. Behavioral therapy is about you and your choices. CBT can be used to manage depression or other conditions in a controlled setting. The therapist and you work together to reduce negative thinking and behaviours during stressful situations.

The aim of treatment is to find more effective and balanced ways to manage stressors. These new methods of managing stressors can help reduce or eliminate problematic behavior. Your self-talk should reflect honesty and fairness.

Self-evaluation is a way to assess your behavior and make informed decisions.

These strategies can be used alone or in combination with therapy. These strategies also work well in controlled environments. These situations will allow you to be more efficient in your response. Online CBT is an alternative. These techniques can either be used at home or at work.
